FAQS
What authority do I cite?
When authority is cited, whether in written or oral submissions, the following practice should be followed:
Where a judgment is reported in the Ghana Law Reports, Supreme Court of Ghana Law Reports, Ghana Monthly Reports, that report must be cited. These are the most authoritative reports. Other series of reports and official transcripts of judgment may only be used when a case is not reported in the Ghana Law Reports, Supreme Court of Ghana Law Reports, Ghana Monthly Reports.
When citing from a case reported on Ghanalaw, cite either the Ghanalaw citation or the suit number. Both the Ghanalaw citation and the suit number can be cited at the same time if the need arises.
